Venetian by adoption for over fifteen years, I live in the historic center of the city, a few steps from my shop. I have Vicenza origins and I graduated in set design at the Academy of Fine Arts in Florence.
During my studies I began to get interested in the History of Costume and later I attended a specialization course in the textile sector, through which I had the opportunity to work as an intern at a famous Venetian mask and costume workshop.
This experience was so significant that it gave me the desire to undertake the profession of mascarera.
I found in this art everything that has always been of my interest, in addition to the ideal space to fully express creativity.
Rugadoro was born in 2007, in Ruga Rialto. The name has a particular and symbolic value for me, in fact since I arrived in Venice “La Ruga” has always been the street where I worked and lived.
It was the road that welcomed me. This is why I decided to pay you a modest tribute by calling the Rugadoro shop. Furthermore, the name has a meaning aimed also at the type of decoration of my masks, as the trimming is a thin line, a golden wrinkle between one fabric and another.
Over the years, the store has moved to another location, still remaining in Ruga, a few steps from the famous Rialto Bridge and its Market, in the direction of Campo Sant’Aponal, in the beating heart of Venice.
